Tango Comics Submission Requirements & Guidelines

PREPARATORY OVERVIEW

Submissions are completed works or unpublished but finished concepts which are intended to be integrated into the Tango Universe of characters. If you’re not familiar or have not gotten acclimated with our comic titles and our comic world, the likelihood of your submission being accepted is highly unlikely, reason for this is that, we want and expect that you are familiar with the Tango brand and portfolio of offerings. If you are not, do yourself a favor and get acclimated. If you don’t have access to our resources and are interested in getting immersed prior to submitting, no problem we’ll send you links to access temporarily from online our digital library.

The reason for this is that we are seeking ideas from creatives that want to grow and expand and enrich the Tango Comic universe by demonstrating not only interest in the evangelizing of their own characters but ours as well. If you feel that’s something, you can not do or are not interested in doing, then do yourself a favor and go no further in this submission process.

Submission criteria should be consisted of a completed story arc whereby we can see the finished product from beginning to end. If you developed this character well in advance to reading this document, then the likelihood of your story being welded into the Tango Universe may require some rethinking. That’s not a showstopper as we’re open to collaborate, pending that there is an understanding that your story and art may require significant modifications in order to fit into the Tango Universe.

You must be comfortable in making some changes to your title some of which may be drastic. If we’ve not scared you away yet, and are still comfortable after reading that, please proceed with the submission requirements below.

Last but most important, you must demonstrate that you have a completed graphic novel, Tango Comics will not accept ideas, or concepts which require artists or other creatives to complete your work. The work you present should be a completed piece of original work containing sequential art, lettering, coloring, etc.

Submission Requirements (Please Read Carefully)

LOGLINE

One or two sentences. This is the elevator pitch, the most distilled, condensed version of your story possible. From reading the logline, one should be able to determine an idea of who the main character is, what the main character wants or is trying to accomplish, who or what is trying to thwart the main character, and the consequences of failure for the main character. Something like this: To save the humanity a team of soldier’s travels through a dimensional gate to stop a mad scientist from blowing up the world!

SYNOPSIS

While the logline is designed to gain the interest of a reader, the synopsis serves to satisfy the readers curiosity by revealing a bit more about who the characters are, and some of the complexities of the plot. But the goal here is still to keep it short (probably not longer than 300 words for a four- or five-issue series).

COMPLETE OUTLINE

Briefly tell the entire story: beginning, middle, and end. A short-story outline should be no longer than a page, an outline for a multi-issue series or graphic novel should be no longer than a page per issue. Indicate issue breaks where applicable. An outline should say exactly what happens in the story, noting plot and character specifics. Do not leave the resolution of the story in question.
